Caspian and Xerxes
The Twins refers to my two characters, Caspian and Xerxes, who have become trapped within one another's lives. Whilst Caspian is able to walk the Earth freely as a living, breathing soul, Xerxes has been cursed to only be able to experience life through his twin brother. No one fully understands how or why they came to be, and there are many questions about it. Only Xerxes is conscious of his connection to his brother, and through this he is able to sometimes gain control and manipulate what happens. Ultimately though, it is down to him to ensure that both can survive, particularly as Caspian frequently wears a blindfold (out of choice) due to his superstition over being able to wander the lands without truly being at risk.
Caspian is the only twin able to be seen without his brother. As Xerxes is all but a ghost, chained to the side of his brother through a spiritual connection that cannot be broken, he is unable to experience any real freedom. He can, however, take the full form of a wolf, so long as part of his body remains in close contact to Caspian's side.
